I also notice on the support matrix that 2.12 is still designated as the
LTS in the second table (with the * against it, rather than 2.15).

It looks like lustre/ChangeLog lists 2.2.15 and the builds are currently using
2.1.15, and there is a patch to fix a build problem for 2.2.3:
