Lustre doesn't really care about the OS version w.r.t. Lustre version interop. Some sites have run ldiskfs MDTs and ZFS OSTs in the past for performance reasons. The clients generally do not care about the backing filesystem type, but we don't test that ourselves.

Should this OS mixing be ok? I'd off course prefer the same versions, but I have to stay on lustre-2.15 (for 2.12 clients compatibility). And I have to have ldiskfs-based MDTs.
