No, I really uninstalled the zfs packages - this removed /var/lib/dkms/zfs.
Then, the installation of lustre-ldiskfs-dkms worked.

This gave my the idea that the very presence of the directory /var/lib/dkms/zfs
(or its contents) trigger lustre-ldiskfs-dkms to ask for zfs.

According to https://review.whamcloud.com/c/fs/lustre-release/+/62161 as mentioned by Tim Day, it is a bit more sohpisticated but goes into that direction.

Thomas

But of course, `/var/lib/dkms/zfs` also exists, because previously, ZFS
wasinstalled.

However, if I remove the `zfs, zfs-dkms` packages, then install `lustre-
ldiskfs-dkms`, everything works fine.

How was ZFS removed that /var/lib/dkms/zfs was left hanging?

What files were in /var/lib/dkms/zfs?
