You all have been so responsive, and I appreciate that, that I've set up a filter within my system to send the Lute list messages to a particular folder. I have done the same with the Harp list, and several other "special lists". This message is a message to myself, as a member of the Lute list, to test whether it goes into the pocket on my computer where I've asked it to be directed.
For any of you who may be curious you can separate out your incoming messages at the level of your own computer (at least those of you using M$ Outlook or third party software - can't say what you can do on AOL as I wouldn't touch them). Specifically with M$ Oulook (or the Express version) you can use the Tools menu to make rules for incoming messages and send them to a particular folder. There are fixed folders, (Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Deleted, and Drafts) that can't be reordered. But to keep the remaining alphabetical folders where I want to see them I put a word in front to alpha the folders. My harplist stuff is all immediately put in About Harps, and this Lute stuff should go in the next one, About Lutes. And this message is a test to see if I set the tools right, if it comes back to me in the right folder then I did it right. Again, I thank you all for your comments last night. I tucked them all away in a folder on lutes, which I'll start going through tonight (but it is getting late). Hopefully in the future they'll come into that new folder. (I am a retired computer consultant, so if the above is Greek just email me direct and I'll help out). Best, Jon
