Hi Herbert: The composer was probably one of the most prolific composers of the period: Good Ol' Anonymous. A very large number of good English Lute pieces are unascribed.
If you can get a micro film copy of the Cambridge Manuscript there are a lot of fairly easy pieces in it. However as I was once told there are no easy Lute pieces, just some that are less difficult.
