Always a fascinating topic for me, ever since one of my
professors interjected into a debate about using the
sustain pedal while playing Bach:
"and what would Bach have done if he had had a
sustain pedal?"
Same comes to mind wrt frets, tuning machines, amplification
schemes, etc.
