Perhaps the explanation is simply a 'nick-name' Hoppy has given to this particular piece. When he first played it, maybe his mouth watered with pleasure. The Canine disease Rabies affects dogs in a similar way. The 'nick-name' for Rabies is sometimes called 'Mad-Dog' Does Hopkinson Smith salivate when he plays this particulart galliard?
