Dear all,

Lucas Harris has asked me to post an announcement for this year's Baroque=20
Performance Institute, to take place in Oberlin, Ohio. I have participated=
=20
in this class the last two summers and studied lute with Lucas, a terrific=
=20
teacher and lutenist. If anyone is interested, please see the message below.

Regards,
Annett

Dear lutenists,

The website for this coming summer=92s Oberlin BPI is now up and running:
http://www.oberlin.edu/con/summer/bpi

The theme this year is "La Serenissima: The Glories of Venice." In addition=
=20
to the lute masterclass and faculty-coached Baroque ensembles, there are a=
=20
number of other things to take advantage of: Baroque dance classes with=20
Julie Andrijeski, faculty concerts & lectures, continuo classes,=20
opportunities to accompany singers, and much more. Loaner instruments may=20
be available from the conservatory =96 please contact me for more=20
information. There are also scholarships for High School students.

Note that the Lute Society of America seminar (27 June - 3 July) will=20
overlap with the second week of BPI and is less than an hour away at Case=20
Western Reserve University in Cleveland. An enterprising lutenist with two=
=20
weeks to spend away from home this summer could attend the first week of=20
BPI and then continue on to the LSA seminar!

Please contact me privately for more details about the lute part of the=20
course, or Anna Hoffman ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) about administrative=20
details.

Many thanks!
Lucas Harris
