Donatella's experience prompted me to look at the lists of addresses
that are getting lute mail. There are several other addresses that
appear to be lists of one kind or another which have $ub$cribed themselves
to the lute list. These addresses would be either spam with the
word "subscribe" near the top of the message or the result of
viruses sent to other list robots with the lute list address as
the forged return address. (This all gets complicated!) Although
these addresses are mainly subscription robots there is no real
telling what happpens to the mail that was sent to them. I have removed
the addresses that look fishy to me, but of course a lot of valid
subscribers sign up with strange names so it is hard to get them all.

I personally have two addresses that I use just for mail lists, and I
do not get spam on either one. I get perhaps 100 spam messages at my
regular address, but SpamAssassin gets most of them.
