the sound archive at the british museum has some early
recordings of middle eastern instruments, played with
a risha one presumes, but no kobsa.

there must be many early recordings of the
bowl-backed, guitar/lute that was popular in germany
at the beginning of last cent..

the technique for playing that shouldn't differ wildly
from of a lute, no?
