Hoppy used to use Pyramid strings, but I do not know what his latest 
preference is.  He does soak his overspun strings, in lanolin.  I think he 
puts the lanolin in a cloth, then draws the string through it.  The lanolin 
works itself into the ridges of the overspun string, & dampens the 
brightness of the string.
