?!? hmm, ok, I read into this a desire for some abstracted form of notation in the file, and on screen or in print a 'presentation' of that. I agree in principle, but I disagree that the proper abstraction is the 'absolute note' (whatever that is). It shouldnt be midi pitch, I contend that the most natural thing to record is fret position, course number, and flag duration (if a flag is given). Tablature records where one puts the fingers on the instrument. Tuning and intonation is implicit. Pace and note duration is left to the performers discretion.
