The collection of Gellert's geistliche Oden may not exactly be sacred music in the strict sense. But those two Sciurus mss. in Cracow (one contains more than 200, the othere merely 8 chorales) certainly are. There is another ms in Berlin called Geistliche Musik auf die Laute gesetzt von Herrn Deckert or so (you will find it in Pohlmann) which contains chorale settings in a fashion very similar to the Sciurus settings (easy keys, easy playing). The lion's share of the music is for 13c lute and may be dated rather late in terms of style (contemporary to Carl Ph. Emanuel, rather than Johann Sebastian, Bach). -- Best wishes,
Mathias -- To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
