I don't own a theorbo but do play continuo on Baroque guitar, 10 course lute and the 13 course baroque dm lute. I think if I would take up the theorbo I would play one in "A" - the G one would probably be the easiest - coming from the ren lute - but the A theorbo basically has a "guitar" built into it from the 2nd string down to the 6th I believe - so coming from the "E" guitar it might be kind of cool ....just a thought.
