i don't know why but fiddle playing crickets come to
mind, dressed in waistcoats.

when you say dancing while playing do you mean just
jumping around or something more involved - as in
intricate dance steps?  i tap a foot in time to the
music and will sometimes emphasize something i play
with my body but anything beyond that - i think -
would require a mental (to say nothing of physical)
dexterity that i don't think i could muster.

interesting idea though.  always on the lookout for a
nice, piazza-wowing effect.

i play a relatively inexpensive charango with a
double-up piece of ribbon that i use as a strap.  i
don't imagine there are many who perform in the street
as we do, who would risk damaging their $1000 + lute
by leaping over curbs and cobble stones.
