I don't know, but I doubt it. As far as I know, these were arranged for an odd pseudo-anachronistic recording by the German mandolin orchestra, a brainchild of Prof. Marga Wilden-Hsgen, Fidium Concentus (2001. Concert music for guitar and mandolin orchestra/Konzertante Zupfmusik, Vol. 2. MDG Records, 6051044). The whole of the CD is performed on big-bodied, 4-course modern German mandolins in modern tuning (i.e., metal strings, all in fifths) except, if I recall correctly, the Villanellas which are played on big-bodied, 6-course mandolins, strung in gut, tuned mostly in fourths, and built to roughly ape an idealized baroque aesthetic, but not quite like any mandolins of the period. If you're really curious, I can check the liner notes of the CD when I return home from the office tonight.
