Dear Wolfgang and Stephan,

I am glad you found the inventories being made by Christian Meyer and his
associates. This is a very important project to catalogue the entire corpus of
manuscript lute music. As Stephan indicated, the table of contents type
listings are in the printed volumes which has indexes on microfiches. The
several volumes are listed on the web site. The on-line indexes, therefore,
are easier to use. By making a search for a specific manuscript (the Craus
book is Codex 18688 at the National Library in Vienna) one can assemble a list
of all pieces for which there are titles. My count is 42 pieces, but I do not
know how I arrived at that figure.

There is also a published list of contents, and additional information about
Craus, in the Denkmaeler der Tonkunst in Oesterreich 18/37. Those Denkmaeler
("monuments") are sometimes confusing because each volume has two numbers. 18
means a volume in the 18th year of the series, and 37 indicates the 37th
consecutive volume. If you have difficulty finding the volume you want, be
sure to ask a librarian for assistance.

Bravo to you Wolfgang for taking on that lute book in German tablature!!
You'll soon be able to tell us "It can be done!!!"

  Dear Wolfgang,

this is just the index for the catalogue, you have to look into the actual
book (volume
3). I have a paper copy but can't get my scanner installed to send you the
entry...

  Regards,

  Stephan
