You can also finger this 4 (or sometimes 3) 1 2 from bottom up. Depending on whether you have the kind of fingers that bend back at the first joint or not and if you have tight spacing between the courses it may be your only option. If you have really tight spacing or fat fingers you could do it the Stewart McCoy way, if I may be so bold as to call it that since he advocated it earlier, that is, use the tip of the first finger, without barring, to play two courses. Whatever circumstances allow and is comfortable for you is probably best. Try several ways. There are so few sources that give fingerings for the left hand and so much music over such a long period of time that I think it is dangerous to say there is a "standard" fingering.
