If I remember correctly, Virdung says that there was a metal-strung 4' in addition to the gut 8'. How's the sound of the nylon Lautenwerk? I have the Jaccottet recording of BWV 995 and don't particularly like the instrument. It is neither fish nor meat, as we say. g
