Although it's on radio, 'Today' is probably Britain's most prestigious (and irritating) news programme. It presents the news in the form of interviews and it's famous for its combative style.
Because Gordon Sumner's latest release features a lute, there was an item about lutes this morning - and there was Chris Goodwin: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/listenagain/ at 8.20. I'd have thought that it would have been quite nerve-wracking but Chris handled it well. Around 8.25 there is always sports news and the presenter has to admit he could think of no possible link between lutes and sport.
