Time Stands Still John Dowland (1562-1626) Fine Knacks For Ladies Forlorn Hope Fancy The Frog Galliard Flow My Tears Sir John Smith, His Almain The Right Honourable The Lady Clifton's Spirit The Lowest Trees Have Tops Come Again: Sweet Love Doth Now Invite American Mezzo-Soprano Melissa Thorburn, a first prize winner of the Metropolitan Opera New England Regional Auditions, has been engaged by such distinguished organizations as the Metropolitan Opera, the National Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Seattle Symphony, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale, as well as being a featured soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra for five consecutive seasons. Ms. Thorburn's European debut was as Siebel at the Deutsche Opera Berlin in a new production of Faust conducted by Jesus Lopez-Cobos, and she has also worked with such conductors as Gerard Schwarz, Rihard Hickox, Roger Norrington, John Currie, and William Smith. Both performers are on the music faculty at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. Ms Thorburn is director of the opera theater, and Dr. Falkenstein teaches lute, guitar and music history. He is a former member of international touring the Buffalo Guitar Quartet. He has worked extensively with the lute and voice repertory, the area of his doctoral dissertation at SUNY/Buffalo.
