Dear lutenists, now it is there, the "Marche pour la Ceremonie des Turcs" by Lully, transcribed to 10-course "renaissance" lute! Actually only 9 courses are used, and you can manage my transcription also by an 8 course lute, even perhaps 7, if you are clever.
I did not try to imitate French lute texture in my transcription - I just wrote my tabulature in a way that suits (in my mind, of course! :-) to the very festive nature of the piece. And I also wrote the tab and especially some fingerings to suit to my own hands and fingers. And taste, of course... My version is not meant to be difficult or "academic". On the contrary, it is meant to be (moderately) easy and especially fun! I did not try to intabulate all the 5 voices of the original score; I just tried to produce the message of the original wonderful piece by different means, a single lute. And oh well, you can find my version in http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/wikla/mus/Lully/Marche/ren_lute.pdf Many thanks (again!) to Wayne C. for his tab-program, and also for his advice (again!)! All the best, Arto To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
