I'm sure you know this, but just to clarify a little... Quicker, yes, but only in the rhythmic values themselves. The tactus itself (the "measure" for us) remains the same throughout. In dance combinations like the one above, it can mean that the rate of harmonic change remains the same while the character and dance steps would have changed to fit the rhythmic patterns.
