Dear Michal and Steven, I do not know of this "luthier", but I know the story all too well. I am so sorry to see you taken by this immoral person, but other luthiers have also done this in the past. Just a year or 2, others wrote in about another luthier, William Daume, who also readily accepted down payments, but was unable to build lutes, and he also ran after the FBI and others were after him. There are also others, I am afraid to say.
