On the other hand, there's an article by Rudolf Rasch in the Tercentenary
Essays volume some years back that stops
just this side of saying that there has been a vast conspiracy to suppress
evidence for ET as the natural meaning of "wohltemperiert" to Bach and his
contemporaries.
