Dear Arthur, > Does anyone know the source for a piece titled (in > English??) "Chaconne for Harlequin." Is that clear? does > anyone know of such a piece, perhaps spelled differently > in the original source.
It is not in English, and it has more than "Harlequin" in the title, but in "Le bourgeois gentilhomme" by Lully there is a piece called "Chaconne des Scaramouches, Trivelins et Arlequins". It starts in the page 168 in the ms published in the Net by Le Conservatoire numérique des Arts et Métiers. You can find it in page http://gallica.bnf.fr/scripts/catalog.php?Fonds=Fonds_Philidor All the best, Arto To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
