Hi,

Try this:

First chord: 1st finger (c) 2nd & 3rd fingers ( the 2 d's )
Little finger for the e note then
First finger ( e ) third finger ( f )
Then the last chord finger as the first chord

It worked for me.

Regards

Neil

Subject: [LUTE] fingering in Dowland's "Mrs. Vaux Galliard"

The fingering of one part of this piece seems especially clumsy, so I
can't help feeling that I'm missing something obvious. Does anyone have
any advice about how to finger this?

(measure 4)

_c__e__f__e_
_d________f_
_d________f_
_a_____e____
____________
__________a_

It's the last two chords that I find clumsy, though of course the
trouble could be starting earlier for me.

The last chord of that measure is repeated several times in the piece,
and it always seems hard to change to it due to the fingering of the
directly previous note or chord. Any advice? The other occurrences are
below for reference.

Tom
