Double strings, only first one single.
WAV-file is a little warmer, indeed. Distance is still too close, but real
mics are coming. Too busy now to even go to the shops ...

No problem, just do a little test recording, go back and check. Do again
untill gain control is right.

You need very good sight, and probably have to keep getting up to
alter the input level, or a very long pair of tweezers. I imagine
that with a pair of microphones, you can keep the recorder closer to
you, and it should be much easier to operate.
