Dear lutenists, nothing important this time (like those potatoes... ;). I just want to say that my "lesser" theorbo, the French theorbo, 76cm:8x1/140cm:6x1 by Stephen Barber, 1986, is a really nice "axe" when tuned to the high d -tuning - 4th above the "normal" theorbo in a. The re-entrant tuning on high notes is ringing in a way nothing else in this word sounds! Like angels were singing... :-)
All the best, Arto PS Stephen, if you happen to read the list: The instrument is getting better and better in time! Now already 21 years! To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
