We have also recently just brought a couple of omni microphones and a firewire audio interface.
For a taste of the results so far, here is an excerpt from Can she excuse, with various combinations of lute, gittern, voice and cittern... www.pantagruel.de/cansheexcuse.mp3 It was recorded in my flat, which has a nice 100+ year old wooden floor and quite high ceilings. There is no added reverb or E.Q, overdubs etc... The transfer to Mp3 does kill quite a few of the high frequencies, especially on the cittern.
