Ronn has had the bridge altered several times and now the lute is set up
like an archlute - with single strung basses. I forget if it's 13 or 14
courses - I think 13.

Ronn's ten-course looks a bit like a Baroque lute because he had it built
with a bass rider for the lower courses rather than a standard ten-course
pegbox. He told me that the major reason he had it built with a rider was to
shorten the pegbox enough that he could get it in the airlines' overhead
compartments. Not strictly historical, but very practical for someone who
flies as much as Ronn does.

I believe he plays a 10 course Ray Nurse lute. I'm not sure of the
