Dear Collected Wisdom,

I have two stupid questions concerning software.

1. From Wayne's tablatures page, I downloaded the suite by Pachelbel
both as pdf and as a tab file. In order to get the tab, I first copied
the text from
http://www2.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/tab-serv/tablature.cgi?Baroque_lute/pachelbel.tab
and saved it as a *.txt file, then changed the extension from *.txt to
*.tab, and finally opened it under Fronimo, and there it was. However,
when compared to the pdf, it emerges that not all notes are shown in the
tab file. (That also happend with another tab file which Arto once sent
me.) Why is that and how can I get around this?

2. From Clive Titmuss's page, I once downloaded a beautiful chaconne by
Louis Couperin as a pdf file. From the characters and the style it is
clear that Clive used Fronimo so as to create the file. By now, Acrobat
Reader has been updated to version 8.0. The reader opens the file and
shows the staves, but no characters. When zoomed down to, say, 75%,
characters f and h appear, but nothing else. So, they are there, but
don't show up. Why is that and how can I get around this?
