Dear David:
The 6 c. Lute you hang on the wall - did you purchase the Lute secondhand
or did it develop the crack over time having been hung on the wall. With
guitars a crack is not the end of the world, it does not affect the sound, mind
you it is not the greatest to look at your beloved instrument and see a crack
in it. I have a lovely 30 year old C.F. Martin that has some wear (with
cracks) and has had some work on it but it still has the most incredible sound,
like a harpsichord. I expect to keep a dehumidifier on over the winter and it
is not in direct sunlight,

P.S.: Any word on the Lute Society AGM in London - I hope one day to relocate
to Europe and be able to attend.
