Listeners not stricken with his particular deaf spot.  You seem to  
think that his dislike of Weiss can or should be generalized to a  
larger population of early music aficionados.

A choral director who was for a time the leading person in early  
music choral performance in Los Angeles would enthusiastically tell  
anyone who asked, "I *loathe* Handel."  But Handel's doing fine,  
thank you.
