Hi, all, I don't have info for the makers mentioned, but there's a man near me in Connecticut USA who makes silk strings: Alexander Rakov, [EMAIL PROTECTED] I've been very happy with them on my Asian instruments (san xian, dan nguyet), but haven't yet tried them on early European instruments. BTW, he feels the original "cats" of "catgut" strings were caterpillars. Best, Chris.
