Dear all,
When I read about this story of Tumiati I really get mad. For me, it
is not only a question of honesty (obviously an essential asset for a
lute maker) but stupidity. Does not he realize that this matter
represents a serious damage for his business? Now we, members of the
lute-list, will never trust him. This is serious loss for his business
since we represent a big part of the small lute community. I myself
contemplated the idea of recommending him to my students since his
instruments are affordable but after this...
I dare Mr. Tumiati to publially defend himself on this list, otherwise
we will have to assume his culpability.
Greetings,
Alfonso Marin
P.S.- As you can see this message is also forwarded to Tumiati's email
address so that he will know what is going on and have the chance to
defend himself.
P.S.- Please. Peter, If you have already solved the question with Mr.
Tumiati, please let us know so that we can change opinion about him.

I'm sorry to hear about all this. I said he is honest, as far as I
know, because years back a similar message had appeared on the
list , and after I had mailed it to him he had settled the matter,
so that was my thought. Sad news to hear.

Donatella, I would be very grateful if you could help me. The
credit card company told me they see this thing more often then
they would like with transactions to Europe. They told me the
merchants know the rules on the statute of limitatons and will use
it against trusting customers. I took his word he would deliver it
in four weeks and paid in full back in the spring of 2002. He came
back with a story that he had a group of people that were going to
assemble them for him, but it all fell through. I asked him for my
money back, but he would say it will be on it's way next week. He
hasn't answered an e-mail in years.
