Dear Bruno:
Thank you for your kind words. The lute I'm using is actually an 11-course=2C
strung in old tuning and tuned to E=2C giving me a contrabass G as the lowest
note. We always pitch songs where Donna's voice sounds best. The youtube
recording was made with the camera's built-in microphone=2C which seems to have
an automatic limiter and affects the balance between lute and voice a little.
The lute I used has a little more substance of sound=2C and I think it does
work better for continuo songs. As for a lute with more basses being more
appropriate=2C I think it has more to do with how well the lute sound
integrates with the voice. The more polyphonic accompaniments work better for
us with a lighter sounding lute.
Best wishes=2C
Ron Andrico
