I think the problem you might encounter is not finding music for this
combination, but finding too much. if you think of the baroque lute as
the continuo member then you can play almost any of the sonata's for
traverso. Vivaldi, Quantz, Paganelli, Ruge, Telemann, ect..... even
with music for an obligato lute part, many of the trios for lute and
violin are actually non specific as to the treble instrument. The
Falckenhagen trios, martino trios, several of the kropffganss trios.
There is alot of music to cover. And don't let the "trio" title scare
you away. many of the cello parts simply follow the lute bass. so they
function very well as duos. I have played some wonderful sonata's for
Traverso by Vanhall and they work incredibly well with lute. they are
much more in the classical style, but for the lute that works as an
adavantage. the slow harmonic pacing really suits the lute well when no
other continuo instruments are present. Good luck.

I recently played a very nice 4 movement sonata for baroque flute
attributed to Vivaldi. In the key of e minor. This is a continuo
     part,
not a "tabbed" accompaniment. I played it on theorbo and it works
     fine.
I have no specific information about the source--I had to do a cut
     and
paste of the score to make a working part and never saw any
       introductory material.
It doesn't really feel like Vivaldi--seems more French than
Italian--but it is a charming piece nonetheless.

Well, perhaps some Boismortier or De la Barre would be potential
candidates for "tabbing", flute and continuo pieces.

     Dear all,
could you point me to some repertoire for
     the combination
     baroque lute & traverso
(I am aware of the possibility to play continuo on the
     d-minor lute :-)
     thank you!!
