Dear David,

Yes, I can confirm that the HF10 is a very good video camera indeed. The latest videos from my duo on vimeo are filmed with this little camera. The sound quality is quite decent. In this case the camera was a bit to far away from the stage and the sound is not as defined as I would want but I think that it is still good enough for internet streaming. This camera has also the posibility of accepting an external stereo mic (I havent tried yet) and has manual a recording level option that take it apart from most of the other budjet HD cameras on the market.

I take this apportunity also to thank Rob for placing the videos on the lute channel on VIMEO.

Greetings,

Alfonso

Here are the links to the videos again in case any of you would like to judje the sound and video quality of the camera:

Of special interest to lute players are the Vivia HF100 and HF 11. The
HF100--the least expensive--is almost totally silent and records to

off--the quality is not as good as the Canon HV30, but you can put it four feet away and not record that awful hum. Has a mic input, as well,
or I would not recommend it. Does not do long strings like the HV30,
but otherwise a nice HD camcorder at a great price. The built in mics
are useable--not great, but certainly useable. They have an "easy"
button which actually works reasonably well.
