For an upcoming Christmas concert I needed something very well-known, preferably Bach, playable on archlute or 10-course, a few minutes long. So, I enjoyed myself this morning arranging what most of you might know as 'Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring'. It's what I'd call a quick-and-dirty arrangement: just picked out enough of the notes to satisfy the audience - the music is in their heads anyway, so all I need to do is switch their memories on - without making it too hard on my fingers. It turned out to be quite playable, even on a 7-course. Find it on:
