Self Help for Trolls
Trolls need help.
1. Keep the keyboard in a drawer and lock it. Use the mouse to type.
2. Keep a big bowl of candy next to the computer. Every time you see
the word troll in a response to your post, eat a candy bar. Then tape
the wrapper to your shirt.
3. Buy a very small computer, like an Asus EEE, then give it to a friend.
4. Ask everyone you know to be very honest and say what they really
think of you, write that down, and don't post it, just save it. Don't
read it.
5. Buy a keyboard with replaceable keycaps and change the keyboard
layout once a week if you start cheating with the mouse typing tool as in
#1.
6. Join an online dating service for trolls. Ooops, there aren't any.
Doh! Perhaps this is a big opportunity to start one.
7. Take the test, if you score below 150, proceed to step 7.

If you score at or above 150, go to step 8.
8. Ignore the above; get help. Help is available.

And trolls are pretty much inevitable on public groups like this. The
only
way to completely eliminate them is a moderated group, and that's much
too
cumbersome a solution for the troll rate on this list, which is
remarkably
low compared to a lot of lists I've been on. What little there is can be
easily dealt with by Delete or an e-mail filter of some sort (I've
already
assigned igor's address to my Junk Mail folder).

Come now, Jim. I don't see how a blanket denigration of the sincere
people
who actually legitimately use and appreciate modern guitar forums is so
far
removed from any other e-trolling. A troll is a troll, whether appearing
here, on a Britney Spears fan forum, a guitar list, or anywhere else.
Sincerely,
Eugene
