There is nothing like a captive audience.  Sometimes you wonder what you are
in for when the performer asks if the theatre doors are all locked yet!

When the busker is in a place where people ordinarily stand and wait the
result is often an attentive crowd that comes and goes in bunches as
trains take them.

You get something similar at ren faires as scheduled acts begin and end.
