In the NGD article 'sources of lute music' section 6 - 'low countries...' is an illustration from Adriaen Valerius 'Nederlandtsches gedenck-clanck' of 1626; Almande Nonette (Une jeune fillette).
Very small illo, but it seems to be the typeface I categorize as London 4, (here it is stops-on-line rather than stops-between-lines as in the editions of P Short and Humphrey Lownes). The imprint is beyond-Brown (1626), so I am having trouble finding bibliographical details - publisher, printer... Worldcat gives me a few hits on apparant fasc. editions ca WWII, but not enough information in the entries for me to be certain. There is a film in the LSA library; but that catalog entry has no detail. LSA microfilm library has a film, [0221]; but printers are sometimes bashful on both titlepage and collophon, anyone familiar with this edition? I am eager to hear about it. -- Dana Emery To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
