I've just pulled out the Bobri magazine which has the duet, and it mentiones something I've overlooked before: that there is a torban in the Markneukirchen museum of musical instruments! Are there any lutenetters in the vicinity of Markneukirchen that could verify this?

Also known 'Don't go Gregory'? (It has this name in a collection of - quite stylish -guitar duets by Vladimir Bobri and Carl Miller)

Roman Turovsky wrote:
Variations in d-minor on a famous Ukrainian poisoning ballad
"Oj ne xody Ghrytsju..."
(this tune is known to them Americans as "Yes, my darling daughter!" and was
probably written by an Italian in the Russian service ca.1800....) -
