Well it's tough being a lute player in California.  I trust that for 
David's gig they at least stayed on the feet- live performances and 
restless shoe leather are suddenly becoming a real phenomenon, ripe 
vegetables no longer in vogue apparently.  I once had an event with 
velcro sandal fasteners mid performance- one of my devoted auditors 
pulled one off his foot; sounded exactly like the program being 
ripped angrily in half. When it happened again from the other foot I 
really had to wonder what was going on. Then a heavy glass mounted 
picture crashed to the floor in the second half of the concert. Life 
is still a bit wild out here in the West.  DW
