If it was originally built as a low-tension lute that would be unfortunate. There were lute-shaped instruments built in germany which were intended for guitar-tension stringing; we sometimes call them lutars, but their builders and buyers thought of them as lutes. Some were expensive and well regarded; but being high-tensioned they dont play like a proper lute. -- Dana Emery To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
