Being both a valve and gut sound fan myself, and strongly associating
the warm sound quality of both (transistors with synthetics), you may
be surprised that my initial and spontaneous interpretation of
""tubed" all my 8 instruments" was that you had just restrung all
eight lutes in gut.

And I still do not touch d-minor tuned instruments, baroque guitars,
medieval lutes, vihuelas, mandoras, callichons, ceteras ,
Sor/Guiliani-guitars,...,etc... ;-)
