For immediate release:
The Lute Society of America will be hosting a table at the
Boston Early Music Festival and Exhibition again this year from June 10 -
13. The coordinator for the event is Dan Larson and we are looking for
people who might be willing to help man the table. Duties will be light
and include talking to people about lutes and the Society, and handing out
information. This is a volunteer position and there is no payment, but you
will get a complimentary Festival Pass which will allow you into some
events free. If you are interested, please contact Dan at:
d...@daniellarson to be put on the schedule.
In addition to the table, the Society will be hosting a
concert recital on June 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 in the demonstration room at
the Radisson Hotel. The Lute Society of America is seeking recommendations
for three solo lute players to perform short recitals at what we are
calling "The Emerging Artist" event. We are looking for young, promising
performers that characterize the best qualities of technical skill and
musical interpretation of historical lute music. The applicants should not
currently have a recording arrangement or have professional
concert experience, and should be current LSA members. The program will
be limited to 25 minutes and take place at the Radisson Hotel in Boston on
Thursday, June 11 at 2:00PM. One candidate has been signed to the event,
but we are looking for two more, so if you fit the criteria, or know
someone who does, please contact Dan for application information at:
[email protected].
