Still living and breathing, last time I checked, and playing two archlutes. Archlute Nr. 1 61cm/106cm 7x2/7x1 a' = 440Hz. Tuned in g'. Usual setup: single first, double 2 to 7. Octaves on 6 and 7 only. Aquila Venice on 5, Aquila loaded gut on 6 and 7. Single basses 8 to 14 Gamut diapasson gut. Archlute Nr. 2 64cm/130cm 1x1 6x2/7x1 a' = 415Hz. Tuned in g'. Usual setup: single first, double 2 to 7. Octaves on 6 and 7 only. Gamut Pistoy on 5, 6 and 7. Single basses 8 to 14, mixture of Gamut diapasson gut and whatever the maker put on in 1991 (most likely Kuerschner). On both instruments strings 8 to 14: E - Eflat - D - C - B - A - G David - going to play archlute nr.2 for a recital with sorpano in Haarlem this afternoon (Monteverdi, Strozzi, et al), and Bach's St. John's Passion in Helmond this evening, and hoping the railways will cooperate in between ... -- ******************************* David van Ooijen [email protected] www.davidvanooijen.nl ******************************* To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
