I was intrigued and got their CD. They play very well and often very fast but they also play at different tempi - within the piece.

It's not Lislevand but from somewhere near Lisvelandia (as it were). Amazon comments on a Lislevand CD, that buyers who bought it also bought Ralph Towner and, for me, that's an interesting way of thinking about Lisveland.

For this Tasto Solo group playing 'Mit Ganzem', I'd guess that positioning is slightly different - buyers who buy it also buy... The Kronos Quartet or something like that. The group won a prestigious (so the blurb says) early music prize but even allowing for their 'innovative' approach they seem to be miles away from any other approach to 15th century music. Anyway they make an amazing sound - and not a drummer in sight (or hearing).
